August 2017

Much as I liked Finland and Sweden I wasn’t took taken with the Flu like symptoms I’ve had since getting off the plane home.

5th August

Laid low with the Flu but decided to venture out today and do a few near Basingstoke.

6th August

Just a couple near home today.
Memories of my childhood and scooling brought  back when doing the Church Micro.
Passing the 1900’s swimming pool one has to think it’s only around the size of a modern Jacuzzi.
Picked up a trackable that desires to only be placed in church micros.

7th August

Had a whim to view something in Mid Glamorgan so looked at what caches I could pick up as well.

Didn’t do all I put on my list but got I few I had marked up to do.

12th August

A quiet but enjoyable day caching close to home.

16th August

Some health screening in the morning meant I couldn’t depart until midday or after.

With an invite to join a group walk in West Sussex it was time to decide whether to travel by car (early rise) or go in the van today and sleep over 1 or two nights.
Took the van but it wasn’t as good an option on this occasion as I broke down late evening. Looked at one point as if it would be a transport home but then came a chance to limp on towards the walk start point an do recovery tomorrow.

17th August

As a result of yesterdays troubles I was first here for Devilish Delights. Cast those troubles aside and took the walk. All good company and no fights. A couple we didn’t find but the team worked well on the others.

The day declined a bit after the walk. A bite to eat then contact the recovery service. The garage that attended last night was issued with the task but after a couple of hours hadn’t turned up, I suspect they didn’t have sizeable transporter either last night or today. A second transporter called in still took a couple of hours to arrive. Final arrival at home after dropping off at local garage and emptying the fridge and possessions was not until 10pm. Not the most cache efficient trip by any means.

20th August

Not up too early but wanted to both boost my monthly numbers and get used to longer walks again ready for next month.

Well that the cue to do a local loop and I picked the WAG series.
Nice set of caches and a nice area to walk too.

Saw a few stars around Flint House oh my I must have some false coordinates there!

Timed the walk well as it started raining as I parked the car in the drive after completion of the walk.

23rd August

The todoist reminder says find a birthday cache and find a mystery cache.

If I had not travelled so much lately I might have had a puzzle solved nearer to the batch of birthday caches that will both boost my monthly numbers and give me a 7mi walk as training for America.

So visits to East Ilsley and Kingsclere today.

24th August

Birthday cache needed today and the best chioce seemed to be a circuit of 10 near Clanfield in Hampshire.

All went well with that series and a few others nearby.

25th August

Just a birthday cache needed today with prospects of a lone one in Abingdon and a series close to Boar’s hill.

Enjoyed the lone one that was nice and clean.

Unsure if I’ve been spoilt on the quality of caches in other countries or just the traffic problems or that I have been spoiled by the quality of caches in other countries but I didn’t greatly get into the series. Still a few more numbers clocked up.
